Researchers developed an advanced 3D-printing method that shortens the debinding stage of zirconia crowns from dozens of hours to under 30 minutes. Traditional debinding is the main bottleneck for chairside zirconia restorations, as fast heating easily causes cracking. The new vacuum-assisted graphite felt system lets gas escape safely during heating. This innovation makes same-day permanent zirconia crowns possible, removing the need for temporary crowns and return visits. It will greatly streamline single-unit crown workflows for clinics.
